BF Banking Financial Services – a global private investment organization – started a partnership with Hogan to improve the selection process for its accountants.
Step 1: Identifying the Profile Using HPI, HDS and MVPI
First of all, Hogan defined the specific personality characteristics and values that guide this target group. Hogan used the personality dimensions of her three basic assessments HPI (strengths and talents), HDS (performance risks) and MVPI (the fit with the organizational culture).
This revealed that the following personality dimensions were important:
HPI Strenghts: high score on Prudence
HDS Risks: low score on Excitable, low score on Leisurely, low score on Imaginative and high score on Dutiful
MVPI: high score on Power (results) and high score on Science.
BF Banking then selected for a period with the Hogan Assessments with a focus on the created ideal-typical profile.
Results: 22% Improvement Through Targeted Selection
The result was impressive: a 22% improvement in the selection process when using Hogan Assessments: 11% fewer bad candidates entered the organization and 11% more good candidates.
